I created The Beating Social Anxiety Together Group for people like me who have social anxiety. I have had social anxiety for 12 years. I have tried CBT therapy, Hypnosis, Self Help Groups and Medication, but I have still not been able to get over my social anxiety. I felt that the groups that I visited were of no help to me because many of the people within the groups did not have social anxiety. The groups were also very large and with me having severe social anxiety I found it very intimidati …
I am looking to create a group where people who have a fear of public speaking and social anxiety can come together to practice speeches, readings or anything they wish to help improve confidence with public speaking and being in groups. I have been to a few things that have helped but have also not been quite right for what I need so I thought of starting a new group. Some groups are too far away; many courses are very expensive and only include one day practice which I feel wouldn’t benefit me …

I am organising this meet up group because I believe that there are a lot of people who suffer from shyness, or social anxiety, or low self-esteem and who feel isolated! I, myself, have had this problem and I know how painful it can be... So why not meet with others who are in the same boat and who can relate to you. Our meet-ups will be very informal and relax.
Would you like to speak with greater confidence? Would you like to contribute more in group situations? Or be more comfortable in social situations? Of course! We all would. Do you have a speech difficulty (like a stammer) or a social anxiety issue (like shyness) which holds you back? The good news is that there is a new group starting up which is aimed just at people like us...people who need that little bit of extra support. More details are available here : http://www.stammering.org/tm.html I …

This a social network for people who suffer from depression and anxiety, and want to make connections with others who “know what it’s like”. We arrange some on-topic support group events, as well as many random get-togethers. The group is private (i.e. no one can see who the members are) and will always remain so. It’s also not a public service, as I fund the group. If I was asked to describe the group ethos, I'd say: nothing is expected of our members, and, the belief that people should be in a …

Were you born an only child? Did you grow up wishing you had a brother or sister? Did you feel lonely growing up? Do you feel that growing up as an only child had an effect on the person you are now? Whether you feel it was a positive or difficult experience, I’ve set up this group as a place where onlies can meetup with other onlies. I run the Birmingham Social Anxiety Group and decided to set up this group having met others who were only children as I believe that it does shape the person you …
